It started with a dream…

We, the original owners of Haydee's, came from El Salvador because we had a dream. A dream of running a business that brings people together. Thanks to God and your support, we have lived this dream since 1988. We love our business and community so much that we take the pleasure of serving you alongside our staff.

Since 1988  I, Haydee Vanegas have been the bartender and my husband, Mario Alas has been the chef. In 2024, our daughter, Mary Haydee who grew up amongst you all, joined us in the team of owners. These days, you can find Mary Haydee behind the bar or hosting karaoke alongside her partner Brandon.

My husband and I have been serving DC for over thirty years, and we hope our legacy continues through our daughter for many years to come. We are always thinking of you and hope you have a wonderful time during your visits.
